Baptism is God’s gift of new life in Jesus Christ to those who believe. Being baptized means joining the worldwide Church and becoming a member of the church family here at St Richard's. We welcome you – adults and children. Children of Christian parents are baptized on the basis of their parents’ faith. Baptism of children requires a real commitment on the part of parents to “draw them by your example into the community of faith and walk with them in the way of Christ” and “to help them take their place within the life and worship of Christ’s Church”. Adults are generally baptised and confirmed at the same time, which means that the bishop is involved in the ceremony. If you would like to find out more, please talk to the vicar.
